Work continues as before with clients from all walks of life seeking assistance to better themselves. It is heartening to see that the mindset towards seeking psychotherapy is altering, albeit slowly. There were a few Corporate Training Workshops conducted on Assertiveness at Work and at Home, Exploit Your Potential, and Distress Management. These were well received to prompt some organizations to look at making training a regular feature on their calendar.
On February 1st my stint in the YOU pages of the Mumbai Mirror came to end. It had a great run and brought out some of my best creative juices when I answered the questions. It challenged me, made me think, and of course improved my writing skills since I had to cram whatever I wanted to say in about 300 words. In fact 250+ questions are still waiting to be answered and maybe putting them together in a form of a book won’t be such a bad idea.
Cecelia Healthcare launching its ‘Well Informed’ website put me on their board of consultants and I have written close to 30 articles on various mental health issues. The website www.wellinformed.com should be up and running very shortly.
Femina took me on as Consultant Editor for their Inner Circle pages, where I guide the team on mental health issues and assist them with my expertise. Soon, my column on Sex and Relationships will also be a part of the magazine.
The Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company (TLCDC) made me a part of their Advisory Board, where I would be giving my views to Terence and his team on how to optimize the young talent that he has with him. The Company is doing exceptionally well and it would be fair to say that the TLCDC can be termed a pioneer in the field of Contemporary Dance.
In the USA recently I had a chance to go back to the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City after three years and it brought back fond memories. Even though Dr. Albert Ellis is no more, the Institute continues to help and reduce emotional distress amongst people from all over the world, besides imparting training in REBT at different levels.
It was a pleasure to meet one of my Supervisor’s Dr. Janet Wolfe who taught me during the Associate Fellowship Program and guided me on the tapes that I had to regularly send from India. We spent a very pleasant and informative evening together at her apartment in Manhattan.
9X, a TV channel, took me on board as their psychologist with a view to preempt any mental health untoward incidents that may occur among any of their participants during the reality shows that they conduct.
